Students of Maritime College Number I participated in a training course on ships for maritime students in Korea  (15/11/2021)


Implementing an international cooperation program on training maritime students, with the support of the Vietnam Maritime Administration, the Korea Institute of Marine and Fisheries Technology (KIMFT) has issued an invitation letter for students to participate in the training course on board ships for maritime students. Maritime College Number 1 (MC1) has conducted the recruitment of 2nd and 3rd year maritime students to participate with very high requirement of English and professional competency; According to the selected results, student Truong Quoc Anh - course 47 of Vocational College of Ship navigation and student Hoang Quoc Khanh - Class 47 of Vocational College of Marine engineering were sent to attend the training course.

This is the first training course for the school students abroad. The training course on board ships for maritime students consists of 2 modules: Basic safety training as required by the International Convention on Standards of Training, Certification and Watchkeeping for Seafarers (STCW78/2010); practical training on a training vessel of the Korea Institute of Marine and Fisheries Technology (KIMFT), duration of the training course is 01 month, from November 17, 2021 to December 17, 2021. The whole expenditure of the training course isfully donated by the Korean Government's ODA.

To encourage the students before going to Korea for the training course, on November 12th, 2021, the school's Board of Rectors, the Department of International Cooperation - Science and Technology and the Navigation Department, Faculty of Marine Engineering held meetings, assigned tasks and encouraged students.

At the meeting, Mr. Do Hong Hai - Vice Rector of the school congratulated the students selected to participate in the training course, and suggested that the students strive to study and research to complete the training course on time; strictly comply with the State's regulations on the management of student retention and are under the management of Vietnam diplomatic missions.

On behalf of students participating in the training course, student Truong Quoc Anh thanked the school's Rector board and relevant departments and faculties for their concern and creating the best conditions for them to complete the necessary formalities to participate in the training course, promised to strive to study, practice well and always preserve the tradition and reputation of the students of Maritime College No. 1.

Participating in the training course is a good opportunity for students to improve their knowledge and professional skills and develop their learning as well as flourishing international cooperation and training activities of the school in the following years.
