With the desire to strengthen and affirm the long-term relationship between Maritime College No.1 and Shirai Shipping Co. Ltd., on March 4th, 2024, Mr. Yutaka Yoshida - Chairman&CEO of Shirai Shipping Co. Ltd., who is also an honorary professor of the school, delivered a lecture to MC1’s students on the career orientation “To become a global seafarer” at MC1 Star training vessel. Attending the lecture, there are students from Faculty of Ship Navigation, Faculty of Marine Engineering Operation and Faculty of Electronic - Electrical Engineering.

In the lecture, Mr. Yoshida gave 10 requirements to become a global seafarer such as: education and training, experience, certification, skills, updating knowledge, relationship network, specialization, preparation for challenges, health and fitness, consistency... These are the core requirements that seafarers must fulfill to become a global seafarer. Mr. Yoshida clearly explained the requirements and answered students’ questions to clarify the content of the lecture.
The lecture was very exciting and brought many interesting information and useful future orientations for the seafaring students of Maritime College No.1
