During his lifetime, President Ho Chi Minh was always deeply interested in planting trees and the cause of "growing people". Uncle Ho taught: "Spring is the festival of planting trees, making the country more and more springy" and "For the benefit of ten years of planting trees, for the benefit of hundreds of years of growing people". He pointed out: "This cost little but benefits a lot. It is also a long-term but gentle competition that everyone, from the elderly to the children, can be enthusiastic to join".
In the atmosphere of the spring 2024, the 93rd anniversary of the founding of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union (March 26, 1931 - March 26, 2024) and in response to the launching ceremony of the Tree Planting Festival - Eternal gratitude to Uncle Ho in 2024 is organized by the Youth Union of Vietnam Maritime Administration in coordination with the Youth Union of Northern Maritime Safety Corporation, Vietnam Television Digital Youth Union & News Department, Vietnam Television organized at Nam Trieu Channel Management Station, Cat Hai district, Hai Phong city.
Right from 7 a.m. on March 17, 2024, more than 30 youth union members of Maritime College No. 1 were present at Nam Trieu Channel Management Station, Cat Hai district, Hai Phong city to prepare materials and supplies for planting hundreds of casuarina trees along the coast to block wind and preserve soil.
