Maritime College No. I with "Competency-Based Approach" Training Program (September 21st, 2021) (18/09/2021)


          Maritime College No.I has developed Automotive engineering standards in order to train in accordance with “Competency-based approach”.

Implementing the training plan for the school year 2021-2022, Maritime College No. I held the Opening Ceremony of the Project to support the compilation of Automotive Engineering standards. (Control and Automation Technology).

       The ceremony was attended by Mr. Tran Minh Thinh - Director of the Department of Teachers - Directorate of Vocational Education and Training (Ministry of Labor-Invalids and Social Affairs); Ms. Tran Thi Mai Yen - Director of Centre régional Francophone d’Asie- Pacifique (CREFAP), representatives of Thu Duc College of Technology and Tay Nguyen College of Technology, enterprises and the rector board of Maritime College No. I.

The project supports the compilation of professional standards for Automotive Engineering (Control and Automation Technology), which is deployed for the purpose of improving the quality of training and improving the capacity of staff and teachers in teaching according to "Competency approach" and building training programs in the direction of competency approach.

          Maritime College No. I is a Public non-business unit under the Vietnam Maritime Administration (Ministry of Transport).

        The school has been ranked the first by the Ministry of Transport and 158 by the International Maritime Organization (IMO) in the List of recognized Maritime training institutions in the world.

         With a vision to become a high-quality, international-standard college in the   field of maritime, port services and logistics by 2025, Maritime College No. I has been developing training programs and implementing the “Assessment of Professional Competence” vocational training programs. (APC)  

         The APC method is currently being applied in vocational education in developed countries and many countries in the ASEAN region.

       The trainees who are trained by APC method, after graduating, they will master knowledge and skills with industrial style and meet the requirements of the labor market and society.

          In 2020, the school was sponsored by the Department of Teachers - Directorate of Vocational Education and Training of Vietnam, Centre régional Francophone d’Asie- Pacifique (CREFAP) under Francophonie International Organization to sponsor a training course on training technology according to the APC method and Transfer of Accounting and Logistics professional standards compiled according to APC.

          By 2021, the school has continued to receive trust and funding sponsor to build a set of Automotive Engineering standards.

          Dr. Luu Viet Hung, Rector of the college said at the ceremony: “After the training courses on training technology, according to the APC, the quality of our teachers has been improved. Many teachers have implemented innovative methods, acquired new tools and methods as well as improved the training quality.

          We are extremely honored to continue to be trusted and sponsored by the Department of Teachers Directorate of Vocational Education and Training of Vietnam, Centre régional Francophone d’Asie- Pacifique (CREFAP) Francophonie International Organization to develop a set of Automotive Engineering standards.

          As a representative of the Rector Board of Maritime College No. 1, we are committed to supporting all resources so that experts and teachers of the Faculty of Electronic- and Electrical Engineering develop a set of Automotive Engineering standards to ensure according to international standards and in accordance with the requirements of the current labor market”.
