Maritime College No. I (MC1) organized a workshop to report on the results of participating in the Global onboard Training Program on the Korea Institute of Maritime and Fisheries Technology (KIMFT) training ship (15/01/2022)


Implementing cooperation agreement between the two governments of Vietnam and Korea, Official Letter No. 3353/CHHVN-HTQT dated August 17th, 2021 of the Vietnam Maritime Administration on sending people to participate in the training course on ships for maritime students in Korea. MC I has selected among the 2nd and 3rd year students of seafaring professions 02 students Truong Quoc Anh - class 47CDKQT - Faculty of Ship Navigation and Hoang Quoc Khanh - class 47CKM - Faculty of Marine Engineering to participate in training courses.

After 1 month (from November 17 to December 17, 2021) participating in a training course in Korea, 02 students of the school have successfully completed the the training program.

With the consent of the School Rector Board, on the afternoon of January 14th, 2022, the International Cooperation & Science Technology Department, Faculty of Ship Navigation and Faculty of Marine Engineering held a Workshop to report the results of participating in the Global onboard Training Program on the Korea Institute of Maritime and Fisheries Technology (KIMFT) training ship.

Due to the complicated situation of the COVID-19 pandemic, the conference was held in offline and online form. Attending the workshop were Mr. Luong Quang Trung - Vice Rector of the school and representatives of departments, faculties and representatives of students from the Ship Navigation and Faculty of Marine Engineering under the training program transferred from Germany.

At the workshop, the representatives of students participating in the training course, student Truong Quoc Anh, class 47CDKQT reported on the 1-month process of participating in the Global onboard training program for maritime students sponsored by the Korea Institute of Maritime and Fisheries Technology (KIMFT) with the participation of 20 students from 5 APEC member economies, including: Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Thailand Lan and Vietnam. The duration of the training program is 1 month and is funded by the Official Development Assistance (ODA) fund and the IMO Integrated Technical Cooperation Program (ITCP) of Korea. Students participating in this program will have the opportunity to put into practice the theoretical knowledge that they have learned in maritime schools/academies and meet the mandatory training requirements of STCW 78/2010 and amendments. Student Truong Quoc Anh was elected as the class monitor and represented the Vietnamese Student Union to introduce himself, about the Maritime College No. I that he is studying at, with the Minister of Oceans and Fisheries,  Republic of Korea (MOF) along with a number of senior officials including the leader of KIMFT; was highly appreciated by the class organizers for their professional knowledge and foreign language proficiency.

At the workshop, students Truong Quoc Anh and Hoang Quoc Khanh answered questions from teachers, teachers and students about issues related to the process of completing procedures to attend the training course, content in the Global onboard training program, lessons learned after participating in this training course...

Speaking at the Workshop, Mr. Luong Quang Trung, the Vice Rector, on behalf of the School Rector Board congratulated the students on successfully completing the course's tasks and recognized the results achieved by the students when representing the school's students for the first time participating in a training course abroad, which was highly appreciated by the course organizers for their professional knowledge and English proficiency; He also suggested that students promote their achievements during their studies at the school, as well as after graduation, to work for agencies and units. Through the results of two students participating in a training course in Korea, the Vice-Rector recommended that the school's students continue to promote the 50-year tradition of construction and development of the Maritime College No. I.
