Maritime College No.1 welcomed the representative of the Vietnamese Seafarers Upgrading Project (VSUP) to visit and work at school. (October 11th, 2023) (30/10/2023)


On October 11th, 2023, Maritime College No.1 was honored to welcome Mr. Ishino Junya - Head of Project office VSUP and the VSUP’s delegation to visit and work at school.

Welcoming the delegation were Ph.D. Luu Viet Hung - Rector; Mr. Do Hong Hai - Vice Rector and representative of school’s units (International Cooperation & Science Technology Department, Human Resource Development and Labor Export Center, Faculty of Ship Navigation and Faculty of Marine Engineering Operation).

At the reception, Ph.D. Luu Viet Hung - Rector sent a warm welcome and thanked VSUP’s delegation for visiting and working at Maritime College No.1. He highly appreciated the contribution of VSUP to the quality of Vietnam Marine human resources, and he also hoped that the VSUP would become a bridge between MC1 and Japanese partners in the near future.

On behalf of the school’s leadership, Mr. Luong Quang Trung - Vice Rector introduced MC1’s history, development, organizational structure, training scale, training program and cooperation with Japanese businesses and partners.

Also at the reception, Mr. Ishino Junya - Head of Project office VSUP expressed his impression of MC1’s history and development, and highly appreciated school’s facilities serving the seafarers’ training and education especially the English proficiency of the MC1’s former students participating in VSUP’s courses in recent years. He also introduced VSUP’s programs and committed to becoming a bridge between MC1 and Japanese shipowners.

At the end of the meeting, VSUP’s delegation visited the school’s facilities for seafarers’ training and education at campus 1. Mr. Luong Quang Trung thanked VSUP’s delegation for visiting and working at Maritime College No.1 and expected to promote potential cooperation opportunities in improving English competency for future seafarers trained at MC1.
