Maritime College No.1 warmly welcomed the delegation of the Australian Embassy, led by H.E Andrew Goledzinowski - Australian Ambassador to visit the school (August 4th, 2023). (10/08/2023)


On the morning of August 4th, 2023, Maritime College No.1 was honored to welcome the delegation of the Australian Embassy and Aus4Skills Program to visit the school.

Attending the meeting, on behalf of the Australian Embassy, there were H.E. Andrew Goledzinowski - Australian Ambassador to Vietnam; Ms. Jennifer Bahen - Counselor, Education and Research; Ms. Julie Hart - First Secretary, Development Cooperation; and Ms. Nguyen Thi Hong Van - Program Officer, Economic. On behalf of Aus4Skills program, there were Dr. Kaye Eldridge - the Aus4Skills Program Director; Ms. Vu Thi Binh Minh - VET Project Manager; Ms. Pham Dieu Linh - Senior Program Officer. Welcoming the delegation were Dr. Luu Viet Hung - Secretary of the Party Committee, Rector; Ms. Vu Thi Hai Van - Chairman of the School Council; Mr. Do Hong Hai - Vice Rector; representatives of school’s units (departments, faculties, centers), and teachers participating in Aus4Skills Program.

Opening the reception, Dr. Luu Viet Hung – Secretary of the Party Committee, Rector sent a warm welcome to the delegation of Australian Embassy in Vietnam and Aus4Skills Program, and he also shared information about training activities at MC1, especially MC1’s role and results of participation in Aus4skills Program such as appointing staff and lecturers to participate in training courses and implementing two modules “Receiving and storing goods” and “Dispatch stock” to logistics students. In addition, with the trust of the program’s members as well as our partners, Maritime College No.1 has been entrusted with the responsibility of being a permanent member of the Logistics Industry Reference Council in the Northern Region (LIRC) and participated as a member of other professional communities supported by the program. The Rector hopes that the recent cooperation will be a solid foundation in strengthening cooperative training activities, exchange students and lecturers; and the school will receive more attention and support of the Australian Embassy and Aus4skills Program in all program’s aspects in the coming time, especially their roles in promoting the relevant state management agencies in developing Maritime College No.1 into a high-quality vocational training institution in the North according to Australian standards and setting up a Logistics Center on the second campus which will become a National Logistics Practice Center to spread the project’s effectiveness to vocational schools, businesses and learners, in line with the deep friendship and partnership between Australia and Vietnam in the future, especially in line with the theme of 2023 People, Cooperation and Prosperity.

At the reception, H.E. Andrew Goledzinowski - Australian Ambassador to Vietnam expressed his impression of MC1’s history and development, more importantly, its position and role in training high-quality human resources to serve the development strategy of Vietnam’s marine economy in general, as well as to serve the Logistics industry in particular. Also at the meeting, H.E. Andrew Goledzinowski discussed the situation and results of participating in the Aus4Skills Program of MC1’s members. The Ambassador said that the Australian Embassy will continue to strengthen its support and at the same time promote cooperation opportunities between Maritime College No.1 and Australian partners in the coming time.

After the meeting, the delegation of the Australian Embassy and MC1’s leaders visited the school’s facilities for training, and attended a Logistics class with the module “Receiving and storing cargo” at the simulated warehouse.
