MARITIME COLLEGE NO.1 ORGANIZED THE CONFERENCE OF OFFICIALS AND EMPLOYEES 2023 (23/01/2024)


Implementing Joint Directive No.5456/CTLT-CHHVN-CĐCHHVN dated on December 13, 2023 of Director of Vietnam Maritime Administration and Trade Union of the Vietnam Maritime Administration; plan No.1077/CDHHI-KH dated on December 29, 2023 of Rector of Maritime College No.1 on organizing the Conference of officials and employees 2023; with the approval of the Steering Committee for development and implementation of Democratic Regulations of Vietnam Maritime Administration, on January 22, 2024, Maritime College No.1 solemnly organized the Conference of officials and employees 2023

Participants of the conference were Ms. Bui Thi My Hanh - Deputy Manager of Personnel Organization Department, member of the Steering Committee for development and implementation of Democratic Regulations of Vietnam Maritime Administration; Mr. Luu Viet Hung - Secretary of the Party Committee, Rector, head of Steering Committee for development and implementation of Democratic Regulations; Ms. Vu Thi Hai Van - Chairwoman of the School Council, Chairwoman of the Trade Union; comrades in the Party Committee, Rector Board, Trade Union Executive Committee, People’s Inspection Committee; leaders of affiliated units, Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union and 170 officials and employees in the school.

In a solemn atmosphere, Mr. Luu Viet Hung - Secretary of the Party Committee, Rector, head of Steering Committee for development and implementation of Democratic Regulations delivered the opening speech at the Conference.

“The review report on implementing Party’s guideline and policies, the State’s policies of the State in functions and tasks in 2023” and  “The evaluation and summary report of units and review the responsibilities of units’ managers in implementing the work plan in 2023” were presented by Mr. Luu Viet Hung - Secretary of the Party Committee, Rector, head of Steering Committee for development and implementation of Democratic Regulations;

“The review report on implementing the Resolution of the Conference of officials and employees 2023 and regulations on implementing grassroots democracy” and “ The report on supervision activities of the School Council in 2023, direction of responsibilities 2024” were presented by Ms. Vu Thi Hai Van - Chairwoman of the School Council, Chairwoman of the Trade Union; “The report on the activities of the People’s Inspection Committee” was presented by Mr. Dang Le Vinh - Head of the People’s Inspection Committee; “The financial disclosure report in 2023” was presented by Ms. Nguyen Thanh Huyen – Manager of the Planning - Finance Department; “The report summarizing the emulation movement in 2023, orientation and tasks in 2024” and “The report summarizing the contributions of units, report on amendments to the Regulations” were presented by Mr. Nguyen Huu Hung – the manager of the Personnel Administration Department and many other discussions from the individuals and leaders of units.

“The review report on implementing the Resolution of the Conference of officials and employees 2023 and regulations on implementing grassroots democracy” presented by Ms. Vu Thi Hai Van - Chairwoman of the School Council, Chairwoman of the Trade Union stated that “In 2023, the number of students in college and intermediate level has improved but it has not yet reached a sufficient scale. On the other hand, the number of students studying some majors such as maritime professions, automotive technology, and logistics increased dramatically which led to overloading of facilities, practice rooms, and teacher resources while other majors are redundant. Pursuant to the Government’s Resolution, to ensure social security, in 2023, tuition fees will not be increased according to the schedule, and the MC1 has to balance its budget because the State will not grant. Thanks to the attention and support from the Ministry of Transport, Ministry of Labour - Invalids and Social Affairs, Vietnam Maritime Administration, General Department of Vocational Education, Hai Phong City People’s Committee... along with the determination to overcome difficulties of the whole staff and employees, Maritime College No.1 will continue to successfully complete its assigned tasks.”

          Speaking at the Conference, Ms. Bui Thi My Hanh - Deputy Manager of Personnel Organization Department, member of the Steering Committee for development and implementation of Grassroots Democratic Regulations of Vietnam Maritime Administration recognized and praised the efforts and outstanding achievements of the school’s staff, employees and students. At the same time, she hope that MC1’s leaders will continue to organize propaganda, dissemination, and implementation of the Grassroots Democracy Regulations to staff and employees; promote democracy in training activities as well as in management; strengthen training links with businesses; seek more support from all resources to enhance training facilities and ensure the school’s maintenance and development. She expects Maritime College No.1 to be the leading flag in the training of the Vietnam Maritime Administration and Hai Phong city.

Receiving the direction of the Steering Committee for development and implementation of Grassroots Democracy Regulations, the Rector committed to implement the guidelines and key tasks in 2024, and also affirmed that the school community would unite and strive make every effort to fulfill the assigned political tasks, contributing to the sustainable development of Maritime College No.1.

Also at the conference, the school’s Trade Union Executive Committee launched an emulation movement throughout the school to excellently perform assigned tasks in 2024.

At the Conference, Mr. Luu Viet Hung - Rector and Ms. Vu Thi Hai Van - Chairwoman of the Trade Union signed the 2024 Emulation Agreement with the goal of all staff and employees promoting the glorious tradition of the school, proactively overcoming all difficulties, striving to emulate good teaching to successfully complete the 2024 target.

The conference ended in an atmosphere of solidarity, unity and determination to fully implement the targets approved by the Conference.
