To implement the official dispatch No. 1096- CHHVN/VP dated March 21st, 2016 by the Head of Vietnam Maritime Administration and plan No. 98 /KH-CDHHI dated March 28th, 2016 by the Rector of Maritime College No.1 on the organization of the third Vietnam Book Day, with the theme "Books are friends," the Maritime College No.1 Book Day was held from 28/03/2016 to 08/04/2016 at the college library. The Maritime College No.1 Book Day aimed to propagandize and respond to the third Vietnam Book Day, honor the value of books and encourage reading habits among the staff and students of Maritime College No.1.

The Book Day in the college aimed to encourage the reading movements and gradually form the reading habits and cultural beauty among the staff and students. This contributed to improve the quality of training of the college and also created the friendly and healthy environment in which the staff and students have chances to exchange, study, and contribute to improve the quality of training. The Book Day attracted special attentions of the staff and the students in the college. Through this activity, the Book Day has launched a message to everyone: "Read more books because reading books is an important way to acquire the quintessence of humanity, the shortest, most trustworthy way to help people to achieve more success in life.”
