Maritime College No.1 held the closing ceremony of the training course “Strengthen MC1 Women’s Leadership” (22/06/2023)


With the approval of the Party Committee, the Board of Rectors, along with the enthusiasm of the guests, coaches, coordinators and especially the enthusiastic response of the trainees, the Executive Committee of the Trade Union - Women’s Affairs Committee has successfully organized a training course to strengthen MC1 Women’s Leadership in 2023 from June 9th, 2023 to June 20th, 2023. The course is an applied project of the Aus4skills Project program – “Fostering Women’s Empowerment and Leadership in VET and Logistics (FWELL)”. The course took place in 2 days 09th-10th June, 2023 with a lot of interesting and useful activities. On June 20th, 2023, at A3 hall, the closing ceremony of the training program took place.

Attending the ceremony were representatives of the Board of Rectors and Executive Committee of the Trade Union of Maritime College No.1, Primary School - Secondary School - High Maritime School No.1 and The Central College of Transport No. 2. The ceremony opens with the presentation of the Overview Report by Ms. Vu Thi Hai Van - Chairwoman of the School Council, Chairwoman of the Trade Union, Vocational Education Lecturer (Class II), Consultant of Logistics Vocational Programs at Maritime College No.1 and Chairman of the Logistics Industry Reference Council (LIRC); a video clip that captures the great moments during the course and the trainee’s presentation of the results. Attending the closing ceremony, Mr. Luu Viet Hung - Secretary of the Party Committee, Rector of the Maritime College No.1 shared that the course is necessary to enhance the female leaders’ status, improve the female leaders’ confidence and build a female leaders’ network to promote sharing of experiences in supporting female leaders in vocational education.

On behalf of the Board of Rectors and Executive Committee of the Trade Union, Mr. Luu Viet Hung and Ms. Vu Thi Hai Van congratulated and awarded certificates to 26 female leaders of 03 School: Maritime Colleges No.1, Primary School - Secondary School - High Maritime School No.1 and The Central College of Transport No. 2 successfully completing the course.

After the training course, the Board of Rectors committed to creating conditions and opportunities for women to advance in their work, approving the opening of more courses to increase EQ, helping to balance life for not only female leaders but also all female workers, arranging funds for activities of Women’s Affairs Committee on many occasions, supporting the organization of Teambuilding activities, regular exercise at break time, care for Tea room to foster solidarity and gender equality.
