Responding to the program “Towards the homeland’s sea and islands” and Instruction No. 54-HD/BTGTU, of February 28th 2023 of the Propaganda Department of Hai Phong City Party Committee on guiding the propaganda on sea and islands; land border between Vietnam - China, Vietnam - Laos, Vietnam - Cambodia in 2023 and implementation of plan No. 467/KH-CDHHI on June 1st, 2023 of Maritime College No.1 on enjoying in response to World Environment Day; World Oceans Day; Vietnam Sea and Islands Week in 2023.

On 3rd and 4th June 2023, Maritime College No.1 visited and worked in Bach Long Vi island district. Leading the delegation was Dr. Luu Viet Hung – Secretary of the Party Committee, Rector of the school; Ms. Vu Thi Hai Van – Chairman of the School Council, President of the Trade Union of MC1 and teachers on the Board of Rectors, heads and deputy heads of departments, faculties and representatives of teachers.

At Bach Long Vi Island District, the delegation witnessed the real lives of soldiers and residents who are performing their duties and living on the island – the frontline in the north; the noble dedications, contributions and sacrifices of cadres, soldiers and young volunteers have been overcoming all difficulties and hardships to build and firmly protect the sovereignty of the sea and islands.

On the occasion of the business trip, the delegation visited and supported the District People’s Committee to build a flagpole, supported the Bach Long Vi Youth Volunteer League, supported the Bach Long Vi Youth Volunteer Kindergarten and gave gifts to poor families on the island with a total amount of 22 million VND donated and supported by officials and teachers.
